- How do I get started/involved?
- Sign up at the member activity table. Don’t be shy, please reach out the CSP chair or to our Membership Chair – they will help. Please be patient with us, although we advise our members of your joining our club. It sometimes takes a week or two before you are contacted by a CSP committee member.
- Is the Atlanta Woman’s Club associated with any religious or political organization?
- No, the club is non-denominational and includes women of various religious faiths. It is also nonpartisan.
- What are the ages of the club’s members?
- The members of the Atlanta Woman’s Club are of all ages. Some are young professionals, some are stay-at home mothers, some are established business women, while others are retired members of our community.
- What if I’m unable to attend the general day meetings – is that acceptable?
- It is. We understand that our members have seasons in their life that do not afford them extra time to volunteer or attend meetings. That is not a problem We realize you joined our club to engage in activities and promote goodwill and we know you will assist when the time is right for you.
- I have an idea for a volunteer activity/fundraiser, how can I pitch that to the Club?
- Decide whether or not it fits our criteria. We are a non-denomination and nonpartisan organization. That means we do not give club money to specific religious or political charities. Then decide which Community Service Program area it fits in, and reach out to that specific CSP Chair.
- I want everyone I know to learn about the Atlanta Woman’s Club – can I mass advertise or place it in our newsletter?
- Thank you for your enthusiasm, please consult with our President, 1st VP or PR/Communications Chair before doing so.
- Do you have a Resource Area to view and obtain various forms and find more information on the club and its activities?
- We will in our new website. It will have a member’s only section where all AWC forms, materials, information will be placed as well as an internal discussion board.
- You can also visit our website, wikipedia to learn about history and information about our club, and past newsletters archives.
- Monthly Newsletters will keep you posted on current and future information.
- Minutes are taken at each meeting and emailed to all members. If you missed a meeting you can catch up by reading our minutes.
- I can’t wait to tell everyone in my company – can I invite all of them to a meeting?
- Thank you for your enthusiasm. Although guests are welcome at each meeting, the best guest is a member’s guest. Why? Our members are knowledgeable of our rules, guidelines and procedure, and we trust that they will bring to us, guests with great character and have a need to be purposeful. Please consult with our 1st VP should you have questions.
- Is there a dress code for Atlanta Woman’s Club guests and members?
- Yes, we ask that each member wear proper attire, meaning no jeans, tennis shoes, jogging outfits, or something similar. Our members are our brand, you represent our Club and we would like to present it in a professional manner.
- I have a personal favorite charity and would like AWC to do something with them, how can I get AWC involved?

- Do I have to volunteer for every event and/or fundraiser?
- No. You can participate to any event and/or fundraiser based on your schedule and your interests.
- What is ESO?
- Epsilon Sigma Omicron (ESO) is an honorary national educational society open to all –members of the Atlanta Woman’s Club. Through ESO, clubwomen are given direction in planned reading for self-enrichment and personal growth. ESO provides clubwomen with a structured reading program that is educational and stimulates a desire for self-improvement. ESO goals include:
- Encouraging clubwomen’s pursuit of higher education
- Creating an additional means to unite women in volunteerism
- Developing a support network for women returning to school
- Improving current and develop new study skills
